A full page ad from the May 31, 1963 issue of Time magazine promoting the Bell dataphone service as a way for business to transmit computer-to-computer data across the Bell System long lines. Note the "S-P" on the building in the window view of San Francisco. It is the headquarters of the Southern Pacific railroad -- a company which would establish one of the first long distance services to compete with Bell fifteen years later in 1978.
